We strive to minimize the negative impact of our production by adapting and encouraging the use of sustainable practices throughout the supply chain. Our production plants are complaint with the ISO 14001 management system, which defines our activities in the field of environmental protection.

Every year we set for ourselves new goals that fit into strategic assumptions in the field of environmental protection. In our daily activities, we focus our efforts on:
REDUCTION OF ELECTRICITY CONSUMPTION
In 2021, we reduced electricity consumption by 3.2% from 0.153 to 0.148 [kWh / connector] compared to 2020.

In 2021, we reduced the annual consumption of diesel fuels by 44% compared to 2020.

The current role of industry in greenhouse gas emissions requires taking appropriate steps to reduce the carbon footprint. The use of modern solutions and technologies allows us to reduce CO2 emissions and obtain lower environmental pollution. We strive to constantly improve our production processes to eliminate the carbon footprint, adopting as assumptions:
- limiting the consumption of materials and surplus stocks,
- reducing energy consumption,
- limiting the consumption of toxic substances,
- increasing the share of recycling in waste recovery.

In OPTOMER, we realise we do not live in a bubble and our actions have a real impact on the environment. That is why, caring about the ecosystem, we have decided to change our current policy and to initiate measures to limit the use of plastic.
According to official data of the European Commission, plastics account for over 80% of all pollutants in the seas and oceans. Its excessive production and long decomposition process cause this number to constantly grow. It harms the climate and health of the people and animals in the world.
The “Plastic Stop!” action is a natural consequence of OPTOMER’s activities in the field of waste recycling and segregation. In our industry, where special attention is put to the safety and cleanliness of products, the total abandonment of plastic is difficult to achieve. However, we believe, by reducing its use, we will contribute to the promotion of ecological responsibility.
We want to prove, that a gradual departure from plastic does not mean a simultaneous decrease in the quality of offered services. We do not change standards, only measures.
