Yokogawa AQ7290 OTDR Series

The Yokogawa AQ7290 series is a new generation of high-performance Optical Time Domain Reflectometers (OTDRs) developed for professional fiber optic testing. Combining outstanding measurement accuracy, intuitive operation, and extensive upgrade options, the AQ7290 is ideal for installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of FTTH, PON, LAN, MAN, Data Center, and long-haul fiber networks.

Designed to meet the demands of modern fiber infrastructure, the AQ7290 offers enhanced dynamic range, short event dead zones, and high sampling resolution, allowing users to accurately locate faults, splices, connectors, and splitters even in complex network environments. Depending on the model, the instrument supports 1310, 1550, 1625, and 1650 nm wavelengths with a dynamic range of up to 47 dB, enabling measurements over distances exceeding 100 km.

Operation is simple thanks to the large 8.4-inch multi-touch capacitive display and the intuitive Simple OTDR mode, which allows measurements to be performed with minimal setup. For more advanced applications, Smart Mapper automatically detects network events, evaluates PASS/FAIL criteria, and displays results using clear graphical icons, making analysis faster and easier.

The AQ7290 is much more than a standard OTDR. It can be equipped with a wide range of optional functions, including an optical power meter, stabilized light source, visible light source (VFL), fiber end-face inspection, network monitoring, and remote operation via Ethernet or Wi-Fi. These capabilities make it a comprehensive all-in-one solution for fiber optic installation and maintenance.

Additional features include ultra-fast startup, up to 15 hours of battery operation, internal storage for 60,000 traces, and expandable memory via microSD cards up to 2 TB, making the AQ7290 one of the most capable OTDR platforms available for professional fiber testing.
