Description

Dome-type fiber optic closure designed to protect spliced connections and for cable branching in underground, aerial, and manhole installations. The UV- and chemical-resistant plastic enclosure provides IP68 protection.

Fiber Management and Patching

The closure is equipped with a support bracket accommodating up to 12 dedicated splice trays. Each tray accommodates 12 splice protection sleeves, providing a total splice capacity of 144 splices.

A patch field for 14 SC simplex adapters / LC duplex adapters is integrated on the opposite side of the bracket, with dedicated space for installing optical splitters in mini-housings.

Cable Entry and Sealing

The closure is equipped with 6 round cable ports and 1 oval cable port. The oval port allows a feeder cable to be introduced in a loop without cutting all fibers.

Standard cable sealing is provided using heat-shrink seals. The closure also supports optional mechanical seals, which increase the cable capacity of the ports:

• Round ports: up to 36 cables with a diameter of 6–8 mm.
• Oval port: 2 cables with a diameter of 10–20 mm (available cable glands: D12, D14, D16, D18, D20).
• For smaller cable diameters, sealing with self-vulcanizing tape or heat-shrink tubing is permitted.

Mounting Systems and Equipment

The closure is designed for wall, pole, and telecom manhole installation. It is compatible with the following cable storage brackets:

• SZ-2 – storage bracket for telecom manholes and cable chambers.
• SZ-3 – storage bracket for wooden and concrete poles.
